Breast augmentation

Breast augmentation is designed to increase the volume of small breasts or those that due to weight loss or after pregnancy have lost their previous appearance. Technically it increases the volume but it is not designed to raise them or change their shape or position and this should be very clear when discussing it with the surgeon to avoid false expectations and lack of satisfaction with the surgery.

The patient will receive in her interview an extensive explanation of the different types of implants, forms and advice to choose the most suitable for her personal case. It is usually an outpatient procedure that is performed under general anesthesia and takes about an hour, with immediate results and a very comfortable postoperative period.

This surgery is indicated for women who feel dissatisfied with the volume of their breasts, either due to low volume of the constitution or loss of volume after decreases in body weight or as a consequence of pregnancy and lactation.

Fortunately, the risks associated with surgery are very low, as bleeding (hematoma), abnormal scarring or reaction to the material of the implants (capsular contracture or seroma), infection, among others, may occur, which, working together with the surgeon, are subject to correction and improvement.
